S. Piero Martire

This Dominican convent was founded between the area known as Camaldoli and the Porta Romana with donations from members of the da Uzzano, Spini, and Baldesi families. It attracted numerous women from elite families as members. The church was torn down around 1550 to make way for new fortifications at the order of Grand Duke Cosimo I. The community of nuns was moved to San Felice in Piazza.
