  • [a] The Ceramelli Papiani archive collects two related coats of arms found in the cloister of Santo Spirito under the name Lapino, derived from the name of the barber to the friars who acquired a tomb in the cloister at an unknown date. The first type of arms, with a six-peaked mount supporting a Latin cross, appeared on Lapino's lost tomb. The second type, where the mount and cross appear above a flowing sea, adorn the balustrade of the stairs connecting the cloister to the church, but, as noted in the Ceramelli Papiani archive, may have nothing to do with the barber or his arms.
