Notes

  • [a] Cecco
  • [b] Ser Sano Cecchi's notarial records are kept in the Archivio di Stato di Firenze, Notarile antecosimiano, vols. 4898-4906 and are dated between 1483 and 1521. A tree in the Passerini archive at the Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale di Firenze shows his lineage to Mariano, but neither he nor his son and grandson have title Ser. A tree in the Carte Mariani Dei uses the title for all three. Ser Piero di Ser Mariano also had notary children Ser Cristoforo, Ser Giovanni, Ser Lionardo, and Ser Girolo.
  • [c] Ser Sano was also elected as guild consul for Arte dei Linaiuoli e Rigattieri
  • [d] guild purse through end of his surviving notarial papers
  • [e] elected 1490-04-24 from 1458 purse
  • [f] Cecchi family tree says he held this post but not in online Tratte with this office
  • [g] no month or day in inscription suggests he commissioned the marker during his lifetime; confirmed in Mariani Dei tree
  • [h] in election purse of guild, seated May 1490
