Translation

Giovanni Bologna Belgian, protegee of the noble family of the Medici, knight of the Order of Jesus Christ, famous sculptor and architect, known by his virtue, character, and notable piety, placed the altar for god and the tomb for himself and for all Belgians of the same art who have interest in the year of our Lord 1599.
