Notes

  • [a] Located in the second bay of the left aisle, the tomb of Vanni di Bonagiunta da Musignano remains where it was first set in the later fourteenth century (Chiti suggests between 1370 and 1380). Above it are frescoes depicting the Crucifixion, Ascension, and Jesus' Apparition to the Virgin framed by painted borders that contain the da Musignano coat of arms. Now partly obscured by later monuments, these fragments have been dated to the first decades of the fifteenth century and are attributed to Mariotto di Nardo (active 1394-1424).
