Notes

  • [a] This tomb is described in the Priorista Mariani as accompanying the altar dedicated by the Tazzi da Mosciano family, the first on the left side of the church upon entering. Rosselli noted that the family had died out, and the altar had passed to the Compagnia di S. Friano, but he made no mention of the tomb, suggesting it may have disappeared by the 1650s, though an eighteenth-century sepoltuario by Giovanni Battista Dei mentions both altar and tomb, drawing the Tazzi arms but not identifying their name.
  • [b] The tomb's inscription was recorded in the Priorista Mariani as abraded: "S......ro d'Andrea" suggesting it was Piero's name on the slab. If so, the tomb would have been installed at some point prior to 1427.
  • [c] If the tomb honoree was in fact Piero di Andrea di Bindo Tazzi, the tomb would have been installed at some point prior to 1427.
