Notes

  • [a] Rosselli was not certain whether the Bartolomei altar had come to S. Jacopo soprarno from S. Pier Gattolini, but he mentions it in his descriptions of both churches. The presence of a late fifteenth-century tomb dedicated to Ser Antonio Bartolomei in S. Jacopo could argue against Rosselli's suggestion, but it is also possible that both were moved. Finding Ser Antonio's testament would clarify where he requested burial and if his tomb was funded out of his estate or had already been established, which seems likely given that it carries no date.
