As the hart panteth after the fountains of water; so my soul panteth after thee, O God. My soul hath thirsted after the strong living God; when shall I come and appear before the face of God? 1442

Notes

  • [a] Located in the fifth bay of the nave, the tomb of Fra Giovanni Verrocchio was given by Fra Antonio de'Medici. The inscription notes Fra Giuliano's age of 42 years, 6 months, and 10 days, but the tomb is dated by Pines and others to the later 1460s following Dario Covi.
