Notes

  • [a] The altarpiece was originally over the high altar of S. Giusto alle mura. The Jesuates brought it their new church and installed it over the high altar. The painting is now in the Uffizi.
  • [b] The altarpiece was painted between 1493 and 1436 for the Jesuates' first church of San Giusto fuori la MuraSan Giusto alle Mura, destroyed in the siege of Florence. They installed it over a secondary altar in their new church of S. Giovannino (S. Giusto) della Calza in 1530.
  • [c] After the suppression of the Jesuates, the altarpiece remained in the church until its removal to the Uffizi in 1857.
