A tomb in S. Jacopo sopr'Arno carried a shield of alternating light and dark bands whose colors remain unidentified. It bears strong resemblance to the arms of the Belfredelli, a family associated with the parish of San Jacopo, but whose arms only held six bars with the darker color, in their case red, as the top unlike Salvano di Dietisalvi's arms which began with a light color. It is tempting to put Salvano into the Belfredelli clan, especially since that family had several members named Silvano, but without further evidence, as well as the differences in the coats of arms, he remains separate from that group.
