  • [a] Even though they entered the priorate only in 1438, the Gondi were considered to be among Florence's grandi. Their Renaissance palace still stands at the corner of Piazza S. Firenze and via dei Gondi, close to the Badia Fiorentina and Palazzo della Signoria.
  • [b] Wills blazons the Gondi arms with different colors, indicating a blue shield with gold maces, but this is not supported by the Priorista Mariani or the Ceramelli Papiani archive.
