[a] According to his record in the Medici Archive Project MIA database (people/2772), Semenzi was born in Ferrara at some point prior to his service to the Medici Grand Dukes from 1560 to 1588.
[b] Luigi Semenzi installed a tomb for his wife in the parish church of San Romolo in 1575. Given that he was a member of the Medici court from 1560 to 1588, he was likely resident of this parish as well.
