  • [a] It is unclear when Lapino, recorded as "our barber" (nostro barbiere) in a sepoltuario kept by the friary of Santo Spirito and copied by Rosselli and others, was active. He could be the barber Lapino di Michele age 42 (b. ca. 1385) living in S. Spirito Ferza at the 1427 catasto or the barber Lapino d'Andrea age 25 (b. ca. 1402) living in S. Spirito Drago. But, given the uncertain date of the Libro dei Frati cited by later sepoltuarists, it is possible that the barber-tomb owner Lapino was active in the sixteenth century, thus ruling out either of the men documented in 1427.
