Piero seems to have used only "Succhielli" as his surname, and he does not appear in the Bonsi Succhielli tree kept in the Carte Mariani Dei. However, the coat of arms displayed on his tomb, with three gimlets crossed by a bend under an Angevin label, is identical to that of the Bonsi Succhielli family, who also had wine sellers among them. Why Piero's line was not traced in the tree is currently unknown.
