According to the Priorista Mariani, Paolo was knighted by King Ludovico of Hungary in 1347, and he appeared in a document dated 1357 as Dominus Paulus Bocucci Manni Victorii de Capponibus pop. S. Jacobi ultra Arnum. He was also known simply as Paolo di Boccucio.
