Translation

To God, the best, the greatest. The most serene Christine of Lorraine Grand Duchess of Tuscany took care that this altar dedicated to Saint Fiacrio for the purpose of worship in this sanctuary; in order to furnish a more venerable place for so great a saint, whom she honored piously and sacredly, among the first, not only in France, but also afterwards in these parts. In the year of our Lord 1596
