Translation

To the best and greatest God. For Antonio Berardi son of Giovanni with illustrious Florentine birth, whose life gave deeds and evidence of wisdom, courage, and honesty, Lorenzo, grieving for his most noble brother, saw that this tomb be placed. He lived 51 years. He died six days before the Ides of March 1,558 years from the Incarnation. [i.e. March 10th, 1559]
