[b] Neri is named in the inscription
[c] Neri, son of Ridolfo, was among the first generations of the Ridolfi di Ponte family that had taken its name from his father. Ridolfo was the son of Bonsignore, so this may be the first usage of the Ridolfi surname, or, as the index to the Rosselli copy suggests, this is a different family
