Notes

  • [a] According to Stefano Rosselli, a number of tombs were removed from the cathedral cemetery during the preparations for the marriage of Ferdinando I de'Medici and Cristina di Lorena in 1589. In 1615, Pellegrino Falcucci made a petition to the Operai del Duomo to have his ancestor's tomb moved back to be near the side door of the cathedral, at which time he restored the original inscription and added his own.
