  • [a] The sepoltuario of 1439 describes the Cerchi chapel in the cloister as having one tomb inside and "più fosse" -- or more graves -- in a little alley (chiassolino) next to the chapel. Everything belonged to Giovanni detto Grasso de'Cerchi, and a copy of the 1439 sepoltuario makes a point of noting that the chapel and tombs are only for the line of Niccolò di Lodovico de Cerchi, and not any others ("non gli altri Cerchi")
