[a] Rosselli describes the Niccolini marker as a square cover (chiusino quadro) with neither arms nor inscription as among the covers of the Sacchetti and Ricoveri Caccini tombs. It no longer survives, but a small white stone between the da Empoli and Tinacci tombs in the transept's third row has been identified by Edoardo Marchionni as its original location.
