Notes

  • [a] According to a notation in the 1596 sepoltuario, the Silvestri family founded the chapel. They conceded the chapel to the Giugni in 1433.
  • [b] The SIlvestri hire Giotto to paint a fresco cycle depicting the martyrdom of various apostles in keeping with the chapel's dedication
  • [c] Niccolò and Silvestro di Giovanni di Tommaso Salvestri/Silvestri ceded their family chapel to the Giugni in 1426.
  • [d] Given that his sons sold the rights to the chapel in 1433, Giovanni must have been the owner prior to that date.
