Notes

  • [a] The Girolami family chapel was destroyed along with the church during the Siege of Florence from 1529 to 1530. The altarpiece by Granacci was moved to a different family chapel in the parish church of San Jacopo tra i Fossi where it remained until the nineteenth century.
  • [b] Given that his and his father's name saints are in the altarpiece, the patron may have been Francesco di Zanobi Girolami, who wrote his testament in 1514.
