[a] Stefano Rosselli describes this altar as on the street side of the church next to the door. While he describes it as "ancient," it is not known when it was installed. It could date to the late 1200s or early 1300s and was renovated in 1585.
[b] Giovanni Rimbaldesi was likely inspired to restore the ancient family altar and tomb in his parish church after the destruction of their family chapel at Santa Croce, torn down when the tramezzo was removed in 1566.
