Badia 095b tomb of the del Cimatore family:

Notes

  • [a] According to Placido Puccinelli, it was Cosimo de'Medici who installed a chapel at the southeast corner of the small cloister. A variant of Brunelleschi's Old Sacristy/Medici Chapel at San Lorenzo, the chapel seems to have been Cosimo's initial foray into ultimately failed Badia patronage.
  • [b] Though the family may have used it earlier, the first known del Cimatore burial in the chapel tomb was in 1505 for Lionardo del Cimatore, at which time the chapel already carried a dedication to St. Jerome.
