  • [a] In his 1657 sepoltuario, Stefano Rosselli recorded that the patronage of the Inghirami chapel, whose arms are sculpted in the vault, had passed to the Ducci family, but that it still contained its original altarpiece. Fra Giovanni Filippo Castaldi added in his 1726 sepoltuario di S. Lorenzo that the original altarpiece had been taken down by Antonio Alamanno Pecchioli and was replaced by the picture that adorns the chapel today: S. Lorenzo frees the Souls from Purgatory by Niccolò Lapi. He did not mention the Ducci.
