  • [a] The altarpiece was originally in S. Giusto alle mura. The Jesuates brought it their new church, where Richa saw it on a side altar. The painting is now in the Uffizi.
  • [b] The altarpiece was painted between 1493 and 1496 for the Jesuates' first church of San Giusto alle Mura, destroyed in the siege of Florence. They installed it over a secondary altar in their new church of S. Giovannino (S. Giusto) della Calza in 1530.
  • [c] After the suppression of the Jesuates, the altarpiece remained in the church until its removal to the Uffizi in 1857.
