Notes

  • [a] In 1568, San Remigio was elevated from the status of simple parish church to a priory when the church of San Pier Scheraggio was torn down to build the Uffizi, and its title was transferred to San Remigio. The church was reconsecrated by Cardinal Archbishop Alessandro de'Medici in 1589 as honored with a simple marble plaque bearing that date.
