[a] The commissioner or commissioners of the altar remain unknown, though the family's coat of arms displayed a rampant gold lion on a blue shield. Two family weddings were referenced by two impaled coats of arms. One, a red shield with a gold pale and facing black lions was surely that of the Neretti family.
