  • [a] Francesco della Foresta, followed by Stefano Rosselli, described the inscription as worn away. Both authors also note that the slab had been removed but did not indicate its new location. Oddly, there is no mention of this effigy in the description of the Strozzi-Pitti tomb by Sermartelli (ASFi, Man. 812, fol. 117v).
