To God, the Best and Greatest. Francesco Riccardi, Marquis of Chianni and Rivalto, Lord High Steward of the Grand Ducal household of Tuscany, and counselor to Cosimo III, Grand Duke, further adorned this chapel in 1696 so that he might always have a place to withdraw from worldly affairs to divine matters, and so that he might prepare an eternal home for himself, rest for his deceased ancestors, and an example for his descendants, and might secure the favor of Saint Maria Maddalena de’ Pazzi for himself and his family.
