Notes

  • [a] According to a notation in the Passerini archive, Bastiano di ser Manieri set up the chapel which was later endowed by his descendant Pippo di S. Stefano di S. Manieri.
  • [b] Given that Filippo di ser Stefano Manieri da Laterina inherited this tomb, the Vieri de'Manieri named as its trecento owner is most likely an ancestor of this group rather than a member of the ancient Manieri family. None of the sepoltuari indicate that the tomb carried any arms, making it especially difficult to be sure.
  • [c] Filippo di ser Stefano Manieri dalla Terina inherited Vieri's tomb in the crypt of Santa Croce, raising the possibility that he was a member of this group rather than the ancient Manieri.
