  • [b] If the tomb carried an inscription, possibly "S. heredum Vieri de Maneriis," then Vieri would have been remembered in name even if the tomb was put up for his heirs.
  • [c] Confusion as to whether Vieri was of the ancient Manieri clan, or was an ancestor of Filippo di ser Stefano di ser Manieri makes it difficult to know whether this tomb carried a direct reference to the Manieri or not.
