According to Rosselli, arms with a mill wheel appeared on a tomb in the Carmine that were similar to those of the Bonsi, but with a red rather than blue shield. Rosselli left open the possibility that if it could be proven that the Bonsi sometimes used a red shield, then the tomb belonged continuously to the same family rather than a transfer between two distinct groups with very similar arms.
