The Ceramelli Papiani archive says the family, who came from the Umbrian town of Amelia, had no coat of arms. In describing the altar and tomb that carried their name in the church of San Vincenzo d'Annalena, Rosselli says that there were numerous coats of arms (poste in piĆ¹ luoghi le loro Armi), but he neither described them nor drew them, he says because they were a foreign family and unknown to Florence, an odd assessment given the lengthy inscription on the tomb recounting the various Medici grand dukes and courts served by Cesio Geraldini d'Amelia.
