The 1427 catasto contains numerous examples of a declared residence (casa per abitazione) in a parish not physically located in the gonfalone from which the tax declaration was made. Residence is "surmised" when extrapolated from political service or tax records that do not indicate the parish of residence and "documented" when the physical location of a house is known. [a] A Benini Formichi family tree dated 1747 and kept among the Carte Pucci separated messer Vanni di Benino di Formica into a father and son, one, Vanni with a document dated 1307, and a second, M. Vanni dottore, in the priorate in 1321 and 1324. However, as Tratte records and the Priorista Mariani make clear, the lawyer Messer Vanni was the son of Benino di Formica, not a second Vanni di Benino di Formica.
