[a] A small plaque at the foot of Paniccia Frescobaldi's tomb indicates that Lorenzo di Bartolomeo Frescobaldi restored it in 1585. If he is Lorenzo di Bartolomeo di Lorenzo di Niccolò di Paolo, then he was Paniccia's first cousin eight times removed. How he came to be responsible for or have rights to Paniccia's tomb remains to be explained, but Paniccia's line died out in the fifteenth or early sixteenth century.
