Nothing is known of Alberto save that he had more than one son to whom a tomb was dedicated in the cloister of Santa Felicita. The marker is indexed with another tomb honoring a Giovanni di Alberto at San Jacopo sopr'Arno, and the copyist may have believed these men to be the same person or members of the same family. However, the lack of arms on the Santa Felicita marker makes it impossible to know with certainty, and this may be another case of a catch-all heading for tombs with no surnames, in this case "Alberti, o di Alberto in S. Jacopo sopr'Arno." (ASFi, Man. 625, index p. 55)
