Notes

  • [a] Giuliano gave his age as 34 in the 1427 catasto declaration he filed with his brothers, headed by the eldest, Uberto.
  • [b] The Zati chapel in Sant'Ambrogio was dedicated to the Virgin Mary and St. Julian, raising the possibility that it was founded by Giuliano Zati in honor of his name saint. The chapel was conceded to the nuns by 1492.
  • [c] Giuliano and his brothers declared two residences in via Ghibellina in the parish of Sant'Ambrogio in their 1427 catasto declaration, which helps explain the family's patronage of the church.
