[a] Paolo d'Ambruogio was elected to serve his guild on January 28th, 1397, an odd date for a guild election making it difficult to know with clarity the length of his term. Given that the next slate of consuls were elected on 12 April, it seems that though the initial election was late that the remainder of the terms in 1397 followed the usual schedule.
[b] Given that we do not know when Paolo died, it is difficult to say whether he inherited the tomb set up by his father.
