Translation

For Giovanna the most pious virgin formerly daughter of Rui Nunes Ximenes Portuguese noble, whose soul on 9 December in the year 1584 departed to those above and her grieving mother [placed this tomb] both for herself and her descendants. I will rise after I will have sat in darkness, because the Lord is my light.
