Notes

  • [a] The inscription on this Canigiani family tomb was abraded and only the surname and date were legible at the time of Francesco della Foresta's sepoltuario. Stefano Rosselli provided the month and date along with the year rendered according to the old Florentine calendar.
  • [b] Antonio was certainly buried in his parish church as was his aunt Elisabetta, whose name and arms appeared on her Segni husband's tomb. Whether Antonio was buried in this Canigiani tomb or another in the church is not presently known.
  • [c] Unless Alessandra requested burial elsewhere, she would have been buried with her husband's family. He was buried in Santa Felicità in 1487.
