Notes

  • [a] Stefano Rosselli noted that by his day (1650-57) the tomb's coat of arms had been lost because they were painted, as opposed to stone (perche era dipinta). He notes his source as the 1573 edition of Boccaccio's Decameron, p. 74.
  • [b] The 1439 and 1596 sepoltuari give Cenni's surname as Chiarino, but Borghini's description based on a different register that included an illustration of the family arms, claimed that it read S. Boccaccii Ghellini, a spelling followed by Stefano Rosselli.
  • [c] The sepoltuario of 1596 noted that the tomb had passed to Antonio di Piero di Fronte, a fact not recorded in the 1439 sepoltuario.
