Notes

  • [a] The marker is now 16th from north in series of 24 installed in the east wall of crypt.
  • [b] Rosselli draws it in the targa shape, not as it appears in the surviving stone, which may have been recut or made new at a later date.
  • [c] The inscription, recorded in the sepoltuario of 1596 and by Stefano Rosselli is now lost.
  • [d] It seems that the Arrighi marker was one of a small number kept and reinstalled in a wall of the crypt following its transformation in 1934. Its crispness and lack of inscription suggests it might have been recut or made new.
