Notes

  • [a] Stefano Rosselli describes the tomb of messer Bernardo della Vitella as over the arched entry of the crypt (Quest'Arme della Vitella e sopra l'Arco, e viene in faccia a chi per la Porta entra in queste volte), though it is unclear whether the marker was thus oriented to the east or to the south.
  • [b] While Stefano Rosselli records the year 1295 as found on the extant stone marker, the sepoltuario of 1596 and its ASFi copy note the year 1317 though without explanation.
  • [c] The della Vitella tomb is described as over the archway of the crypt's door.
