Notes

  • [a] There are discrepancies among the sources as to whether the tomb had one or two inscriptions with distinct honorees from the same family and whether Giovanni's title was ser or messer. The 1439 S. Croce sepoltuario records ser Johannis, likely the notary ser Giovanni di Corso da Colognole, while the 1596 copy indicates his title was dominus and adds a second inscription honoring Corso di Biliotto, likely ser Giovanni's father. More research on the family is needed for clarification. Stefano Rosselli only copied the first inscription using the messer rather than ser title found in the 1439 original.
