[a] The chapel and associated tomb are attributed to the patronage of Filippo's widow several decades after his death. It is possible they had secured the burial spot in time for his burial, or he may be buried in an older family tomb like the one in the cemetery.
[b] The sepoltuari indicate that the arms decorating the threshold between the family tomb in the loggia and the chapel of the Annunciation belong to the patroness of the chapel, which would be Bice da Mosciano, sometimes called Trinciavelli. However, the arms as described match neither of these families nor any other identified Strozzi wives in this banch of the family (Cavalcanti, Monaldi, Peruzzi). It is possible that M. Filippo and Bice installed a tomb in the loggia, which was used for his burial around 1334, and then she further endowed the chapel in 1363, but more research is needed to determine the sequence of events and which family members might have used this tomb for their burial. A new tomb was installed around 1400 inside of the chapel by Bice's great-great-grandsons.
