[a] While the inscription was legible for Sermartelli's sepoltuario of 1617, Rosselli could not make it out by the 1650s.
[b] Donna Nera was certainly buried at Santa Maria Novella wearing the Dominican habit, most likely in the tomb that carried her husband's name.
