  • [a] The Cederni family tree found in the Passerini archive does not show the lineage suggested here, but given that Giovanni lived in the parish of Santa Maria Novella, it stands to reason that his father was the Bartolomeo di Pietro who installed a tomb in the friary's cloister.
  • [b] The friars installed a new inscription plaque dated 1766 but likely had inherited rights to the tomb much earlier given the extinction of the family by 1507.
