  • [a] Bishop Alessandro Strozzi left funds in his will for endow an altar dedicated to St. Peter Martyr at Santa Maria Novella, one of twelve installed as part of Vasari's renovation of the church interior.
  • [b] After receiving the relics of the Polish Dominican San Giacinto (d. 1257), the altar was rededicated to him and given a new altarpiece by Alessandro Allori showing his miraculous vision.
